Make the renowned “batata a murro” (smashed potatoes). Wash a few new potatoes and bake them in the oven with their skins on.

Season with a bit of sea salt.

When ready, remove them from the oven and smash them, either with your fist or with a kitchen mallet.

Mix in tinned codfish to the potatoes, then drizzle with the oil from the can. Add salt and pepper to tastes.

Serve with a salad.
