Meet Miss Can: The Self-Made Mermaid
At Miss Can, we believe the sea has stories to tell—and we’re here to can them. Inspired by mermaids (the original ocean it-girls), we bring the richness of Portugal’s coast straight to your plate.
Why "Miss Can"?
There’s tradition behind the tin. Historically, canned goods were often named after women—an ode to the vital role women played in the canning industry. Our founder took that to heart. “Miss Can” honors that legacy while celebrating bold, independent spirit.

A Wave of Tradition
Since 1911, we’ve done things differently, hand-preparing fish to preserve its taste and quality. Our products are made from sustainably caught fish, packed by hand, and celebrated for their rich flavors. For us, canning isn’t just a business, it's a way of life. It’s a tradition that respects our oceans and gives back to our community. We believe in sharing great food, protecting our oceans, ensuring fair trade for hardworking fishermen, and building a better world with every tin.

From Portugal with Love
Portugal’s coast is a seafood paradise. Nutrient-rich waters, generations of knowledge, and a love for the ocean all go into every tin. We don’t just make fish. We make flavors worth savoring.
And if you ever find yourself in Lisbon, stop by our Petiscaria. It’s our little slice of tradition and taste—where you can snack, sip, and sea for yourself why we’re hooked on the ocean life.
